The Definition of School is...

School |skool|
noun
1. A place where adults torture young children for minimum wage......

:)

Some of you may enjoy school, some of you...not so much. I don't dislike school, I just dislike (home)work. This past week was the first five-day week of school this year, and I made it out alive! Well, I left school early on Monday but, technically, it was a full week of school. It wasn't too bad, but I could definitely do without the homework. And "...I can do without you leaving little chocolate almond Hershey bars in my mailbox-they melted yesterday and now I got three gooey letters from home with nuts in them. And I can certainly do without you sneaking into my apartment after I go to work and painting my balcony without telling me about it. I stepped out there yesterday and my slippers are still glued to the floor!..." (Erin, you will be the only one who understands that...(It was an excerpt from a monologue I had to perform in class)).

I have some interesting characters with me at school, both teachers and students. My algebra II teacher calls everyone 'honey' or 'babe' or 'baby' and she gets soooo into what she is teaching, so it is fun to watch.  My english teacher is so young and fun to be around, she even has a poster of Lil' Wayne in her room and she keeps up with everything we keep up with (celebs, fashion, music, etc.), so we have some fun conversations. My latin teacher's daughter had a baby today... random, I know, but that is exciting. :) My global econ teacher is brand new and sticks to the rules, I think she is just afraid to do her own thing because she is new. My art teacher is OCD and has dislexia, so she freaks us all out a little bit... she even told us she has OCD and dislexia, there was something else too, but it was large scientific term so I forgot, naturally. Also, I have two carpool buddies-Lydia (I mention her in my gymnastics posts) and Christian. I have known Christian since 5th grade and he is a very interesting person... lol. He is really nice and smart, but boy oh boy, does he have his moments that are outta this world. The other day, we were taking him home and he changed the display screen in our car (Itsa a Prius) to km/hr and so it showed we were doing 100. So, of course, he comes up with something witty to say, "We are doing 100 and everyone is faster than us?!?!?"... you had to be there, but it was a very interesting car ride, trip to Target and trip to LTMS with him.... 'nough said. :)

Well, I don't know what to say... I am tired from practice tonight, so I'm gonna 'sign off'... :) Luv ya all! <3

Gym Party

Last night, I went to a party at my gym (gymnastics) and it was sooo much fun! Since my elbow is still injured, I cannot do too much still, so basically all I could do was flip around.

It was a ton of fun, and I didn't get home until 11 o'clock so I was there for a long time, but I didn't mind, it was like open gym so I got to do whatever. :)

Me and Lydia @ the gym
It was such a fun night filled with pizza, foam in the eye, elbow tag, lover's leap, flips, making hair scrunchies, tag, making dance routines, watching our coaches tumble, making up games, rolling around in a hamster ball, and being chased by girls who have had too much caffeine. I had a great time, and I want to take all of my friends to open gym with me sometime, once my elbow is better, it would be a ton of fun. :) I hope you all have a great week of school this week and I must talk to you soon-lots to tell! <3

Vapur- The Anti-Bottle

It's new, it's cool, it's the anti-bottle...It's Vapur! So, there is a company that makes the most amazing water bottles in the world! I discovered them at my family's friend's boutique, Le Marche, in Midway. They are plastic, refillable, reusable, collapsible bottles that you can freeze if you choose, or just drink straight out of. I use them for lunch at school and may use them for sports, because they are easy to carry and don't take up much space. And, they are totally cute!

These are seriously the coolest thing I have seen in a long time! They are fun to drink out of too. :) Check them out on the website, and find a store near you!

The images on the outside of the bottles are cool too, as you can see above, there are the cartoon ones that are cute and funny, the purple one shown above has water droplets in the form of the world map, and they have sleeves for the bottles, and different lids/caps for them as well. These are LEGIT. :) And.... they are so reasonably priced! Check them out!! <3

*All ideas and opinions are my own, I am not sponsored to do this. Images shown are from www.vapur.us*

Falsies Waterproof review & HOTD

So, awhile back I was asked to do a review of the Falsies waterproof mascara by Maybelline......

Well, I completely forgot about doing the review until today, when I used the mascara for the first time in awhile. So, here ya go! :D

Above are three pictures of me wearing one coat of the mascara with curled lashes and nothing else.

Review:

I personally don't care for this product too much. The formula was on the clumpy side right from the start and the wand just doesn't work well with me... I honestly couldn't see much difference with it on and my lashes curled as opposed to my lashes curled with nothing on them. Granted, it was only one coat, but this mascara is not buildable-I have tried. I guess if you are wanting to go for a more natural look, this mascara would work well, but if you are going to get it, get the regular, non-waterproof one. This mascara is not waterproof and gave me raccoon eyes, just like I was trying to prevent. The weird thing though, is that it takes forever to wash off, but just smudges all over the place if you get in the pool... that said, get the non waterproof one-it'll make it easier.

So overall, I would NOT purchase this product again and would not recommend it unless the regular one works better. I was disappointed with it, but I am not going to give up on Maybelline mascaras just yet, because I love Great Lash BIG, so I will just have to try out the others... :)

HOTD:

This hairstyle is a cute french-twist messy-bun that is easy and fun. I haven't done this hairstyle in forever, probably over six months, and when my bestie, Angela, of Writing in the Rain, posted 4 cute back to school hairstyles, it reminded me of this hairstyle so I thought I would do it again today and see if I like it for school or not. The above is the result! :) Super cute, messy and easy, I might just wear it to school tomorrow...

Random picture time! This is an image of what the sky looked like above my house last night after the storm that cut the Creek pool party short:

Have a wonderful Monday y'all! <3

I am 'Starry Eyed' and Stuff...

Hello Lovelies! :) I am a little under the weather right now and I didn't plan anything for this blog post, so we'll see what I come up with at the end... Today was the planned Tates Creek IB pool party @ Hartland. I showed up, ate some fruit, chatted with some friends, searched for ghosts, (it's a long story), and then the skies opened up and poured down on us. I didn't even get the chance to get in the pool! I was a little bit disappointed but somewhat fine with it since I am not feeling up to par anyways. The party ended about 40 minutes earlier than planned and everyone hurriedly said their goodbyes and left. That was the highlight of my day. When I wasn't at the party, I was in my room, taking random pictures of my cat, my room, me, etc. This was one of the pictures I took:

Nice, right? Hahaha... Anyways, I thought of something important to tell you guys, (and gals), I may not have another post on my blog until next Saturday, as gymnastics resumes this week and the homework will begin to pile up. If I don't get the chance to post until then, I apologize greatly, and I wish I could be blogging.

If you were wondering about the ghost hunting thing mentioned above, it is an app from the Android market called, SpecTrek Light. It is a really fun game and if you are playing it in public, people will stare at you like you have problems... 'Nough said. If you get the chance, you should check it out, it is super fun for anyone! (Hey, that rhymed...)

Oh! I got something else to tell you. (See, this post is all over the place with tons of random stuff....that's what happens when you don't plan...) I am currently in love with the song, 'Starry Eyed', by Ellie Goulding. My friend on my team showed it to me and I love it! It is a different style of music than I normally listen to and I can't get it out of my head.

Check it out, it is a really cool song! :) Well, that's all for now, I think. Love you all and hope you have a good day! <3

First day: Check! :D

Whoa! I cannot believe the first day is over already! It actually flew by pretty quickly and wasn't too boring! I knew people in every single one of my classes, which was sooo nice! I feel like I know ton of people because I have friends there from MMSK, LTMS, Southern, LCA and a few other schools, so I am very thankful for that. •••
The halls weren't as crowded as I thought they would be, thankfully, and I was able to find my classes easily today-tomorrow is another story!! :P Lunch was a hectic mess though, I am sooooooooo super duper glad that I brought my lunch! The worst part of my day though, was the fact that so many of my closest friends, (Angela, Saba, Sara, Taylore, Grace, Julia, Jake, Matthew, Patrick, etc. etc. (In no particular order)) are not at Creek with me! :'(  I think high school will get off to a good start, and I hope YOU had a great day too! Get ready for another one!!! <3 Tell me how your day went in the comments below!

.........Good-Bye Summer.........

In about 11 hours I will sitting in a classroom with a bunch of strangers, twirling my hair and wondering, "How the heck did I end up here???" This summer has flown by like a speeding bullet, and I feel like I didn't accomplish much, even though I actually did quite a bit when you think about it. The first week of summer I went shopping with Hannah, Grace, Angela, Saba, Sara and Julia. Then I went to DRG for a week and experienced some rough waters at the same time-both literally and figuratively. I went mini golfing with Creek people. Went to the pool with all my homies (LOL) and celebrated Julia's birthday. Went to the pool with my closest buds. Watched my BFFL and her sister in the play, Annie, at the LCT. Had gymnastics VERY often. Redid my room. Went back to PT. Got confused- a lot. Laughed- a lot. Developed a strange hiccup 'disorder', lol. Got new tricks off the diving board. Got a tan-sorta. The list goes on and on and on. (♪And it goes on and on and on, yeah, I throw my hands up in the air sometimes, saying ay-oh....♪) Thanks to everyone who helped make my summer special, and I hope you don't regret yours! Now, hold your chin up high, (Not too high, you might run into a wall,) and smile at yourself in the mirror for 10 seconds to start your day. Think positive and make the most out of your day. Take it one step at a time, but when nothing goes right, go left!!! LOL. Love you all and hope you have an AMAZING first day of school tomorrow! <3

Mary Kay Giveaway Review and swatches!

A big thanks goes out to Allie Early, from Sundresses and Smiles, for holding a Mary Kay makeup giveaway, which I was lucky enough to win. So, here are swatches and my review:
Mary Kay Ultimate mascara in black, firming eye cream, eyeliner in black, eyeshadow in Sweet Cream

L-R: eyeliner, eyeshadow, eye cream, mascara (With Flash)

L-R: eyeliner, eyeshadow, eye cream, mascara (No Flash)

Here are some pics of me wearing the eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara:

My favorite product by far is definitely the mascara. The mascara wand separates lashes well and definitely appears to add volume to the lashes. Definitely a new favorite. My only problem with it is the formula clumps on the wand a little, so if I want the lash separation, I will need to clean the wand more often than usual.

My second favorite is the eyeshadow. Although it doesn't seem to appear in the pictures, I can see it in the mirror and it is a nice, light color you could use everyday, or as a base or even as a highlighter. I got that color for that purpose and it did what I wanted it to, yay!

I personally do not care for the eyeliner. It is a mechanical pencil liner, and it is supposed to be smudge and budge proof. I am not big on pencil liner, but when I do use pencil liner, I always smudge it, but you cannot do that with this eyeliner, so you must be very precise and careful when putting it on. It won't smudge very easily and is semi-waterproof, or I found it to be. If that is what you like, then I would recommend it to you. I probably won't use this product on my upper lash line, but will use it on the lower lash line.

There isn't too much to say about the firming eye cream, it is a slightly sticky and thick formula. I have not used it consistently since I received it in the mail, so I cannot say whether I can see results or not...

I hope this helps, and thanks again, Allie! <3

Highlights! And hair! And smiles!

Heyy guys! Tonight I am getting highlights! I have gotten highlights before, this will be the third time and I am so excited! Since I am getting my hair highlighted and since school starts in one day (!?!?!?) and since this post was a request, I have decided to do a back-to-school hairstyle 'tutorial'... kind of.

To start, take a section of your hair from the front of one side of your part and braid it halfway back your head, fastening it with bobby pins:

You can leave your hair down, with the braid to the side or you can pull the rest of the hair up into a side pony:

You can leave it in a pony or you can add a bow to spice it up OR you can twist it up into a bun and tie a bow with a ribbon:

If you aren't a ribbon person, stick a fake flower from a craft shop in the edge of the bun to add color and fun:

(Or you can just leave your hair down completely!) :D Haha.

The last thing you must to do to create this look is smile, because, "You're never fully dressed without a smile!"

OhMyGosh! Fun EOTD

Okay guys, blah blah blah, I'm sorry I haven't posted, blah blah blah...... I have stuff planned for my blog-I PROMISE! I just have been Super Duper busy recently. I received my winnings from my first giveaway win from Allie Early, of Sundresses and Smiles, and I cannot wait to post the review and stuff! :) Thanks, Allie! I also went to Kings Island for a whole day and saw Briana, Dylan, David and Erin, and that was super fun, but I only have two pictures, so I may or may not post about that... Yesterday, I went to Julia's birthday party at the pool. Her family rented out the pool so it was just the people invited to the party-it was a blast and I had fun trying new flips off the diving board!!! There were probably around 14 people there, so it was a nice size party and I got to see Danni, Nicole, Madi, Hannah, Brady, Julia, Angela, Sara, Saba, Shivam, Jake, Matthew, Patrick, and I don't know who else, (Sorry if I left you out accidentally!) I also had gymnastics every day except Friday this week so I was very busy with that, as well as trying to fit in the back-to-school shopping so I apologize for my absence.
Now on to the fun EOTD. Unfortunately, I don't know the brand of this makeup product and I was bored so I just did this look for fun. I probably would not wear this out of the house tho....

Have a great rest of the day and enjoy the rest of your summer! <3

'Mean' music video

Sunday night, at Angela's house, a group of girls including Saba, Sara and Angela (well duh, it was at her house) helped to create our version of Taylor Swift's music video, Mean. :) It was such a blast and would love to do it again! If you would like to see the video, click on the link below to watch it!
