April Favs- Tag!

Happy late Easter! I really wanted to do a post yesterday bu since I did the Easter post, I wanted that to be the post at the top of the page so people would possibly read it so I restrained from doing so... With that being said, here is another fun post!
Here are some of my April Favorites of anything and everything! So that the post isn't super-duper long, I will do categories, ie: favorite makeup product, favorite hair product, etc.

Favorite makeup item: e.l.f. cream eyeliner in black- $3 @ Target or www.eyeslipsface.com

Fav hair product: Herbal Essences conditioner in 'Hello Hydration" :D it smells like coconuts! $2.84-ish at Kroger, Walmart, etc. It makes your hair so smooth and clean! DON'T use it everyday though!

5 Gum in Solstice! I love this gum so much! I don't really need to give the price of gum... :D

Fav purse/tote: Aeropostale tote from my last haul post! :) $8.99 on sale!

Fav nail polish: OPI in Strawberry Margarita! I LOVE this color and would wear it everyday if I could, even though I dislike pink... $5-$14 at drugstores or nail places, depends on where ya go. I got mine for $8 from Red Nails at the Fayette Mall

Fav chocolate bunny: German chocolate bunny that is super creamy and smooth. I finished it today... yum! :D I have no idea how much it cost.

I really don't know what else to post... this is kinda pointless... Sorry.

Easter

Tomorrow is Easter, so instead of doing a fun, entertaining blog post, I am going to do a serious, Easter-related post. You do not have to be a Christian, Catholic, or any religion for that matter to celebrate Easter, though it is a holiday related back to religion. This is going to be a very long post, just to let you know. I do not know all of the spellings, terms, and exact information straight from my head, so I did use the Bible and a reliable Christian website to make sure I have things correct.

If you do not know just what Easter is, it is the resurrection of Christ. Christians believe, according to Scripture, that Jesus came back to life, or was raised from the dead, three days after his death on the cross. As part of the Easter season, the death of Jesus Christ by crucifixion is commemorated on Good Friday, always the Friday just before Easter. Through his death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus paid the penalty for sin, thus purchasing for all who believe in him, eternal life in Christ Jesus. By God giving his own son's life, he was forgiving us all of our sins and giving us new and everlasting life. It shows just how much God loves us, like it says in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have eternal life."

The night before Jesus died is known as 'The Last Supper.' This was a meal with all of Jesus' disciples, including those who would betray him later on. Jesus, being the son of God, knew already that this was his last night, but his disciples did not. After the supper, Jesus and his disciples go to the Garden of Gethsemane, (pronounced guess-sim-any) where Jesus leaves to pray. When he comes back from praying, all of his disciples are asleep. Since he knows that these are his last hours, he is disapointed with his disciples and asks why they cannot stay awake. The disciples respond that they are sorry and that they won't do it again, so Jesus goes off to pray again. Still, when he returns, his disciples are asleep.

Meanwhile, Judas, a disciple of Jesus, is planning on betraying Jesus. Judas has devised a plan and created a signal for his followers who wish to betray Jesus, because he calls himself the 'Son of God.' The signal is to kiss Jesus on the cheek, to let the others know who they are to arrest, for calling himself the Son of God. After Jesus has prayed and his disciples have fallen asleep, Judas approaches Jesus and kisses him on the cheek. The followers of Judas are watching and see the signal, so they approach Jesus and arrest him.

The next day, Jesus goes on trial before Pilate, a leader of the people. After being on trial, he is sent away to Herod and a decision is made so he is returned to Pilate: he is sentenced to death. After being sentenced to death, Jesus is led away to Calvary and must carry his own cross to where he will be crucified.

Mark 15: 25 says, "It was the third hour when they crucified him." The third hour in Jewish time would have been 9 a.m.

Once Jesus was hung up on his cross, the soldiers began gambling for his clothes, and once they had won all of his clothers, they insulted, mocked and beat him.

Matthew 27:39-40 says, "And the people passing by shouted abuse, shaking their heads in mockery. "So! You can destroy the Temple and build it again in three days, can you? Well then, if you are the Son of God, save yourself and come down from the cross!""

Mark 15:31 - "The leading priests and teachers of religious law also mocked Jesus. "He saved others," they scoffed, "but he can't save himself!""

Luke 23:36-37 - "The soldiers mocked him, too, by offering him a drink of sour wine. They called out to him, "If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!"" Luke 23:39 - "One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!""

At the sixth hour, for us, it would've been about noon, darkness covers the land for three hours.

Matthew 27:46 - "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?""
 
Luke 23:46 - "Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." When he had said this, he breathed his last." 3 p.m./The ninth hour
 

After Jesus was crucified, his body was placed in a tomb. A large stone covered the entrance and soldiers guarded the sealed tomb. On the third day, a Sunday, a few women, including Mary Magdalene, went to the tomb at dawn to anoint the body of Jesus. Then, a violent earthquake took place as an angel from heaven pushed back the stone. The guards shook in fear as the angel, dressed in bright white, sat upon the stone. The angel announced to the women that Jesus who was crucified was no longer in the tomb, "He is risen, just as he said." The women went into the tomb to inestigate and found it was empty, Jesus had risen from the dead!

This is just a very brief story of Easter and Jesus' death, I left out a lot, but if you have questions or I have time, I will post more. :) Easter isn't just about hunting for Easter eggs, the Easter Bunny, and pastel colors, it is about the death and resurrection of someone who loves you so much, he put his faith in his creator and died, so that you can be forgiven and live eternal life! Remember, God loves YOU! He created you and has a special plan for you, no matter how crazy your life gets, it is already planned out and God knows what he is doing!

Contest Winner & TORNADO!!!

As my followers probably know, I held a very unimportant contest for a Yves Saint Laurent mascara sample... The lucky winner is: Angela! Congrats Ang, you are the winner, we had an entrant with a higher score, and another entrant who entered twice, unfortunately, the first score counts, not the second, since it gives the answers afterwards... also, the highest scoring entrant was not a follower, so Angela gets the prize!

In addition, as all of you Lexingtonians should know, we had a tornado warning tonight. When the warning was issued, I was at my gymnastics practice, which is in Versailles so we got the warning at about 6:15. Our gym has a metal roof so the rain was SUPER loud and absolutely pounded. It was so loud that if I were standing two feet from you, I wouldn't be able to hear you yell. So, we got off of beam, (such a great distraction the rain was, you really could've died with the racket, trying to concentrate and land safely on a four-inch wide beam, four feet off the ground...) and went and made a fort out of matts. We all crowded under the 'fort' and talked for about 30  minutes. After being squished in the tight space, the weather got worse so we all went and jumped in the pit and once again covered ourselves with matts. Here are two pics..

It was a fun night, I don't really feel like going into details but let's just say there were tears of fear, jokes told, telephone games gone hysterical, learning facts about each other, egg hunts, conditioning, REALLY LOUD RAIN, candy and memories... We will have an inside joke about this one day... :D

Currently, I really like the song, We are the World, by Michael Jackson. I like both the new and old versions, but I think I like We are the World-25 for Haiti better because I know and can identify the artists.

Hey everyone! I haven't had many posts recently because I have been busy, so since I had a chance, I thought I would catch up on posting. The idea for this post was given to me by a friend at school named Samuel-thanks! 


I am a Christian and I attend a wonderful church by the name of Southland Christian Church. It is VERY populated, and is a very large building: 


Though it is very large and you meet new people everyday, there is a strong feeling of warmth and being welcome there, a family kind of feeling. I am not sure exactly how many people attend weekly, but I think it is around 10,000. They have four services on Sunday mornings: 8am, 10am, 10:10am, 11:30am. You can wear anything you wish to church there. On a normal day, you will see traditional church dresses and ties, as well as ripped jeans and hoodies. You are welcome there, no matter who you are or what you look like. 


Every week, they offer amazing worship music and wonderful lessons from the Bible, usually led by our pastor, Jon Weece. Check out his blog at:

Jon delivers the weekly messages in modern terms, making analogies with the stories using things from the 21st century, making it easy to understand for young children, and funny too. I absolutely love my church, and they have a cafe too! They serve Starbucks coffee and donuts, danishes, hot chocolate, and other breakfast-y items for a nice price. 


I have not always gone to Southland, but when I was born, that was the church I went to. Then, we felt that it was too large so we moved to Southern Acres Christian Church. We were there from my kindergarten years until 4th/5th grade. Then, SACC changed pastors and the entire church changed, we didn't like the changes so we went church hunting. We found a nice LITTLE church, (emphasis on the little) called Centerpointe Christian Church, and stayed there for about a year, but we never really felt like it was meeting our needs, so, we decided to go back to our original home, SCC, and found that we are most comfortable there. I love SCC! :)

My spring break...

Hey guys! I am finally back from my wonderful spring break trip to the outer banks, a string of islands that are a part of North Carolina. Yes, our family was daring and wore our UK wear while in NC, though I was afraid they would eat us alive. :D Thankfully, they did not! We stayed in Kill Devil Hills, right by Nags Head. And yes, they have funny names, including a town called, Duck. (I laughed my head off at that one...) We arrived at our resort late Saturday afternoon and left yesterday at about 12:30, after visiting one last lighthouse. In total, we saw 5 lighthouses and went up in 1 lighthouse. While on the trip, we visited Bodie Island Lighthouse, Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, Roanoke Marshes Lighthouses, Currituck Beach Lighthouse and Ocracoke Island Lighthouse. At the first lighthouse, I got the bright idea to do a handstand in front of the lighthouse, Bodie Island Lighthouse, and have my dad take a picture. After that, I did a handstand in front of anywhere we went or anywhere that looked cool/we had fun there. So, most of the pictures I have to show you in this post consist of my wobbly, off -balance, bad form handstands. In some of the pictures, it was pouring rain, in some it was windier than you can ever imagine, and sometimes, I was just flat out lazy. So, for your pleasure, here are the pictures.
